Nigeria: Authorities Speak on NAFDAC Main Office Fire Incident

Authorities have issued a statement over a fire incident at the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) office on Saturday in Oshodi, Lagos state.

According to the Director of Lagos State Fire Services, Rasaq Fadipe, no life was lost and no one was injured in the inferno. 

He said that five water trucks were deployed to the scene immediately his men were alerted to put out the fire.

“The fire occurred in a container loaded with some tyres, drugs and other items. I don’t know if they were seized items, but my men were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the warehouse and other buildings,” Fadipe said.

Adesina Tiamiyu, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), said a full investigation into the cause of the fire would be carried out by the appropriate authorities.
