During her second major speech on Thursday, November 3rd, Melania Trump, whose husband is known for using Twitter to mock and degrade women and his opponent, said her agenda would be to combat cyber-bullying and harassment..

"Technology has changed our universe," the 46-year-old said. "But like anything powerful, it can have a bad side. We have seen this already. As adults, many of us are able to handle mean words, even lies. Children and teenagers can be fragile. They hurt when they are made fun of or made to feel less in looks or intelligence."

Melania Trump delivered her speech at a sports center in in Berwyn, a suburb of Philadelphia and was targeting a group Trump needs this Tuesday: white, college-educated suburban women.

Fayose signs peace agreement with Herdsmen, releases Seized Cattles


Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose and leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) otherwise known as Fulani Herdsmen, have signed a peace agreement after fine-tuning grey areas in the enforcement of the Anti-Grazing Law in the state.

At a brief ceremony in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti yesterday, Fayose ordered the immediate release of 9 cows of the member of the group seized by the operatives of the recently inaugurated Ekiti Grazing Enforcement Marshals for contravening grazing law. He maintained that the approved grazing period 7am to 6pm as stipulated in the law stands and that anyone who contravenes this will be dealt with.

Photo: EFCC arraigns pastor for N22.4M fraud

The EFCC, has arraigned Pastor Nimi West and his company, Nimak & Company Nigeria Limited before Justice U.N. Agumoh of the Federal High Court Port Harcourt, Rivers State on a four- count charge of obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of Twenty-Two Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N22,400,000.00).

West is alleged to have received the said amount from one Emmanuel Dike at different times in 2013 for payment of a bungalow at D/Line, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. However, the complainant later discovered that the property had been sold to another person while his efforts to recover his money did not succeed.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when read to him.
In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, C.A.Okoli applied for a date for the commencement of trial while the defence counsel C.B.Osita made an oral application for bail of the accused to enable him attend to his health.

Kogi Amala meal: Death toll rises to 9, hospital suspects cynide poison

A 42-year-old woman and a boy, 10, who also ate the 'poisoned' cassava flour meal in Ogaminana area of Okene in Kogi, died on Thursday, November 3rd, at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, while the third victim is in critical condition.

LIB recalls that a woman, her three children and her neighbours's two kids died between Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday,Nov. 1, after eating a meal of cassava flour. 
The woman brought the cassava from her farmland at Ohuepe village, which she used to prepare dinner for her family and gave some of the food to her neighbour. The victims developed severe stomach pains hours later and died.

NNPC increases fuel price by N4/litre at its mega stations


The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has increased the pump price of petrol by N4 at its mega stations, thereby changing the price from its initial N141 to N145, per litre. NNPC prices have been N141 in the last few months until on Tuesday Nov. 2, when it was raised to N145.

Reacting to this, spokesman for the NNPC, Garba Deen Muhammad, told Daily Trust; "there was no rule that compels any marketer including the NNPC to sell at a particular price. A price regime was introduced between N135 and N145. So, you can sell anywhere within that range. What you are seeing is interplay of market forces."

A violent husband bit off his wife's nose after she refused to pay his expensive dowry and moved out of their home. According to reports, Raj Kumari and her husband Shiv Prasad got married two years ago but separated last year, following his continuous luxury dowry demand of £1,800 and brand new motorbike.

The 21 year old lady, who moved to her parent’s house in Lakhimpur after separating from her 23 year old husband, claims that the shocking incident took place on her way to school on Tuesday, when he ran towards her and grabbed her before biting off her nose after failed attempts to bring her back home.

Police arraigns painter who absconded with his customer's N1m mistakenly transferred to his account in Lagos


The police in Lagos today arraigned a 22 year old car painter, Taiye Obakoya, before Mrs J. O. Adepoju of the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, for absconding with one of his customers, Dada Emmanuel's N1 million mistakenly transferred to his account on October 20th. Obakoya who resides at No. 26 Awolowo Street, Oworosoki, Lagos, absconded the money and was arrested after spending N150,000 from the money.
Prosecuting Sergeant Nicholas Akpene told the court that Dada Emmanuel had employed the services of Obakoya and asked for an account number to pay him his money after he completed his painting job. Dada while trying to credit the account, mistakenly did a mobile phone money transfer of N1m from his bank account to the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) account of Obakoya.
