Protesters on Monday reportedly broke into the venue of a meeting Acting President Yemi Osinbajo was having with stakeholders in Edo state, disrupting the entire programme, TheCable reports.

The meeting is part of an ongoing negotiation interface with the oil producing communities in the region.

The Cable reported that it was disrupted after Usani Uguru, minister of state for Niger Delta, finished speaking.

Attempts by governor Godwin Obaseki to calm the aggrieved individuals yielded no result, as they continued waving placards.

Security personnel have formed a barricade around the acting president and calm the protesters.
