Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri, has admitted that Riyad Mahrez has been distracted by speculation surrounding his future.
The Algerian has been persistently linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in the stands, as Paris Saint-Germain hammered the Foxes 4-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Mahrez is hot in demand, after he scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists, as Leicester won their first ever Premier League title last season.
“Maybe Riyad is distracted a bit by all of these rumours and speculation,” Ranieri said.
“But that is also an experience for my players.
“It is important that he understands that he should stay with us. He has to improve his fitness and play for the team as well as last season.”
