Prosecutors Lose Appeal To Add More Years To Oscar Pistorius’ Jail Term

Oscar Pistorius will not face more years in jail after prosecutors today lost an appeal against his sentence.

South African Judge Thokozile Masipa rejected an application by state prosecutors to appeal Pistorius' six-year murder sentence. She told them it had no reasonable prospects of success.

Masipa had sentenced the Paralympic gold medallist in July for murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in 2013.

However, the prosecution says the decision was too lenient, but there is nothing they can do about it now.
