S. Korean Ex-President Jailed Over Corruption Allegations


South Korea's former President Park Geun-hye has been arrested and jailed over high-profile corruption allegations that already ended her tumultuous four-year rule and prompted an election to find her successor.

A convoy of vehicles, including a black sedan carrying Park, entered a detention facility near Seoul after the Seoul Central District Court granted prosecutors' request to arrest her.

Magu Seeks N5bn Compensation From Sun Newspaper


Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has written a letter to the publisher of the Sun Newspaper in Abuja seeking a N5 billion naira compensation.

Wilson Uwujaren, Head Media and Publicity, EFCC said this on Thursday in a statement in Abuja.
He said Magu was seeking the compensation for “libelous imputations and statements” made against him in a story published on the March 25, 2017 edition of the Saturday Sun.

America’s Serial Killer Dies After Attack In Prison


A former nurse's aide dubbed the "Angel of Death" after he admitted killing three dozen hospital patients in Ohio and Kentucky died Thursday, two days after he was attacked and beaten in his prison cell.

Donald Harvey, who was serving multiple life sentences, was found injured in his cell Tuesday afternoon at the state prison in Toledo, officials said. A patrol report said -the 64-year-old was beaten when an unnamed person entered his cell.

Harvey pleaded guilty in 1987 to killing 37 people, mostly while he worked as a nurse's aide at hospitals in Cincinnati and London, Kentucky. He later claimed he was responsible for killing 18 others while working at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cincinnati.

Kemi Olunloyo, Samuel Walson Brought To Court In Prison Uniforms For Bail Hearing (Photos)


Kemi Olonloyo, and Samuel Walson, a publisher of a local tabloid in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were today brought to court in prison uniforms.

Chief Magistrate, Alatuwo Elkanah Fubara, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with credible sureties who reside in Port Harcourt.

Recall that Olunloyo and Walson are facing four count charges of publishing defamatory and malicious story against the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie.
