Photo: Nigerian man and his Ugandan girlfriend arrested with 1kg of heroin in India

Police in Mohali, India police have arrested a Nigerian national and his Ugandan girlfriend and recovered 1 kg of heroin, worth around Rs 5 crore, from their possession.  

The Nigerian suspect simply identified as Neubuz and Helen from Uganda were nabbed on Tuesday, March 28th,  following the arrest of three persons, including two women, from whom the police had recovered 500 gm of heroin, worth Rs 2.5 crore, two days ago.

Dr Ifeanyi Uba has debunked speculations that he was arrested by operatives of Department of State Services (DSS).

Ubah who spoke to The Guardian today on the telephone said the rumours were a propaganda against him.

“If I am arrested, I would not be talking with you now. They should continue writing, but those who are in doubt should come and watch football match tomorrow because I would be there,” said the founder of Ifeanyi Ubah Football club. So that settles it we guess.

Former Brazil Speaker Sentenced To 15 Years Imprisonment


A federal court sentenced Brazil's former speaker of the lower house, Eduardo Cunha, to more than 15 years in prison for corruption, making him the highest-profile political conviction yet in the "Operation Car Wash" scandal.

The former politician's defense team said they would appeal the decision but Cunha will remain imprisoned pending appeal.

The body Kim Jong-un's brother is being flown out of Malaysia. The remains of Kim Jong Nam were said to be on a plane to Beijing amid claims of a 'deal' struck with his brother.

Nine Malaysians left stranded in North Korea as a result of the row between the two countries are also expected home on Friday (tomorrow).

A van carrying Jong nam was seen leaving hospital Kuala Lumpur for the international Airport's cargo complex.

Ghana Central Bank Governor Resigns

The governor of Ghana's central bank, Nashiru Issahaku, has resigned. Former president John Mahama appointed Issahaku in April 2016, but Mahama was defeated in an election in December, which created uncertainty over the governor's position under the new government of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

DSS Arrests Ifeanyi Ubah?


Ifeanyi Uba, the owner of Capital Oil, has been arrested and detained by Nigeria's Department of State Security, Sahara Reporters reports on their website.

The businessman was previously implicated in a fraud saga with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, accused of embezzling funds from an illegal sale of crude oil saved in his facility, the online medium stated.

According to Sahara Reporters, Mr. Ubah's aides were called to confirm his whereabouts, but they did not call back despite promising to do so.
