Cristiano Ronaldo climbs into the top 10 international goalscorers of all time after scoring 70th & 71st goal for Portugal

Football star, business man and World Footballer of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record!

The Real Madrid star scored two goals against Hungary last week, his 69th and 70th goal for his country, Portugal, and then followed it up with another goal against Sweden his 71st, which automatically put him among the top 10 highest goalscorers for national sides in the history of football. Congrats to him!

Police parade cultists, kidnappers who lure their victim by pretending to be lesbians, and other criminals

Police in Rivers state on Tuesday paraded criminals arrested for crimes ranging from kidnap to armed robbery and cultism. In a press statement, it was revealed that suspects were apprehended following a mandate from IGP Ibrahim K. Idris ordering the IGP Monitoring Unit to bring to book the criminals constituting a menace in Rivers state.
It was revealed that two of the men paraded kidnapped their landlady and her son. Ifeanyi Ezechukwu, 28, and Chinedu Amadi, 18, were arrested on the 23rd of March during a raid at Umuanwa community, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers state. 

Brazil becomes first country to qualify for Russia 2018 World Cup!

Brazil has officially become the first country to qualify for next year's World cup in Russia after the South American nation defeated Paraguay 3-0 on Wednesday morning, and then watched Peru's inflict a 2-1 victory over Uruguay.
The win over Paraguay, inspired by country captain Neymar, was Brazil's 13th match without a loss, booking their place in Russia.

Wife Of French Presidential Candidate Charged With Fraud & Embezzlement


The Welsh-born wife of a French presidential candidate is facing at least 10 years in jail after being charged with criminal offences. Penelope Fillon, 61, spent more than 13 hours being grilled by three Paris judges investigating a fake jobs scandal that has been dubbed Penelopegate.

Her husband Francois Fillon, the conservative Republicans party candidate to become head of state, was indicted earlier this month.

The Presidency has reacted to the decision of the Nigerian Senate to stand down President Muhammadu Buhari's request for the confirmation of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC RECs . 

President Buhari’s Senate liaison officer, Ita Enang, said the administration will respect the decision of the lawmakers and pursue dialogue with them; PREMIUM TIMES reports. 

''The Nigerian Senate is an arm of government that must be respected in any decision it takes in the course of exercising its powers as an independent institution.''
