Buhari Forwards Names Of 2 Ministerial Nominees To Nigerian Senate

President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the names of two ministerial nominees to the Senate as replacements for the late Mr. James Enojo Ocholi (SAN) and Mrs. Amina Mohammed.  

THIS DAY reports that the names were forwarded to the Senate on Tuesday night. The nominees are from Kogi and Gombe States. 

A source within the Presidency also said there will be a cabinet reshuffle once the nominees are cleared. 

Legendary South African activist Ahmed Kathrada dies at 87

Ahmed Kathrada is a renowned South African activist and close friend of Nelson Mandela.
He died on today at the age of 87 after a brief illness following a brain surgery he had recently.
Derek Hanekom, the chairman of the Kathrada Foundation confirmed his death saying, 
'Comrade Kathy was a gentle, humane and humble soul. He was a determined revolutionary who gave his entire life to the liberation struggle of our country," 

"We are living in fear" - Nigerian students on Greater Noida, India attacks (Photos)


Nigerian students and other African nationals living in Greater Noida say they face daily prejudice and are living in fear after two days of violence targeted at them following the mysterious death of a local youth.
The students allege political pressure behind the attacks amid rising tensions between local residents and the foreigners.

The Nigerian Senate has just issued a statement through Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity to clear the air on the conflicting figures in the media about the price of some vehicles purchased by the senate.
The statement reads;

President Buhari signs ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change

A few minutes ago, President Muhammadu Buhari in his office signed Instrument of Ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the State House Abuja.

He initially signed the first draft of the agreement back in September 2016

Former NNPC boss, Andrew Yakubu withdraws N1bn suit against EFCC


Former Managing Diretor of NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, has withdrawn his N1 billion fundamental human rights lawsuit filed against EFCC. Yakubu filed the suit after the antigraft agency arrested him following the discovery of $9.7 million and £74,000 in his house in Kaduna on February 3rd.
