Buhari Sacks 5 Directors Over Illegal Recruitment

Following reports of illegal recruitment exercise into the federal civil service, the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has given the nod to the dismissal of five directors at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).
The five directors were sacked with immediate effect. 

The directors sacked are Godson Ukpevo of the Civil Service Pension Department; Uloma Uruakpa of Custom, Immigration and Prison’s Department; Taiwo Ogundipe in charge of Parastatal Department; Atiku Dambatta of Police Pension Department and Roz Ben-Okagbue of Pension Support Services Department.

The Nigerian national who was assaulted in Greater Noida has said that no one helped them while they were being beaten up and claimed that he had no clue why he was assaulted.
"We don’t know why we were assaulted, the mob hit us with rods, bricks and knives. 
We asked people around for help, but not one called the police. Even our colleagues did not help,"  said the Nigerian national as quoted by ANI.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured thorough investigation and action over the incident. The UP government has said that a report will be provided to the Centre on the incident soon.

A 14-year old girl who raped by five men at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, Ghana says she has been contemplating suicide for some time now.

The traumatised girl dropped out of school at Class Four after her ordeal and says she is being haunted by the dastardly incident which has left her with life-threatening complications.

Her revelations come as the Nkawkaw police arrested a third suspect, Awudu Kamiru, an 18-year-old head porter. The victim was strangled by her attackers in an attempt to murder her after raping with her.

Disturbing video of mob attack on African national at shopping mall in India


In a disturbing video that has emerged amid rash of racist attacks on Africans in Greater Noida near Delhi, a man is kicked, punched and beaten with steel dustbins by a large group at a mall.

The footage, apparently filmed on a mobile phone at the Ansal Plaza in Greater Noida, has been shared on Facebook by the Association of African Students in India.
A black man is seen curled up on the floor, trying to block with his arms the repeated blows from the mob, which thrashes him with stools, bins and whatever the attackers can grab hold of. No one tries to help the man or stop the attack that appears to take place in the middle of the mall's ground level.

Sambisa Memorial Day: Gov. Shettima declares December 22 public holiday in Borno


Beginning from 2017, December 22 of every year is to be marked as Sambisa Memorial Day which will be public holiday in Borno State for the purpose of remembering victims of Boko Haram insurgents, the victory recorded by the Nigerian Military, and the remembrance of fallen soldiers and volunteers who sacrificed their lives fighting Boko Haram since 2009 in different parts of Borno State.
Borno Governor, Kashim Shettima announced this on Monday inside the Sambisa Forest at the opening of the Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship which is currently holding at the Forest that used to be taken over from insurgents. Shettima said December 22 was chosen for the annual public holiday because it was on December 22, 2016 that the Nigerian Armed Forces took over the Sambisa Forest from Boko Haram insurgents after a tough battle.

Obasanjo reveals how he built a church while in prison and won souls for God

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how God made him  build a church during his incarceration at Yola Prison and later won the souls of several inmates including a notorious robber/murderer who later became a pastor with Baptist church.
