Photos: Notorious Boko Haram commander, Osama who escaped from prison rearrested in Bauchi


Operatives of the State Security Services (SSS) have arrested one of the commanders of the Boko Haram, Nasir Sani aka Osama. 

He was arrested at Ahmadu Bello Street, in the city of Bauchi few days, according to a statement by officials of SSS.

Senate To Summon ABU Authorities Over Melaye’s Certificate Controversy

The Senate will this week invite the authorities of Ahmadu Bello University to clear the controversy about alleged certificate scandal involving the chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Territory, Senator Dino Melaye. 

Biafra: Okorocha Urges Buhari To Release Nnamdi Kanu

Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to consider the release of the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The governor attributed Nnamdi Kanu’s actions to youthful exuberance, and believes that his continued detention is a distraction. 

He added that some south east leaders are already coming together to make a case for his release and would caution his actions afterwards.

Governor Okowa Urges Aliko Dangote To Invest In Delta

African richest man, Aliko Dangote, has been urged to invest in Delta State's abundant gas resources to boost Nigeria's economy.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state made the call weekend in Asaba at the commissioning of an ultra-modern office complex of Chinedu and Company Limited, an associate company of Dangote Cement and a Warehouse belonging to Dangote Cement.

"We have a lot of gas in Delta State and gas is very important to the petrol-chemical industry; as a nation we cannot continue to import finished products and we strongly believe that we will play host to the next multi-billion naira project of the Dangote Group in Delta State," Governor Okowa said.

CAF Secretary-General El Amrani Quits

African Football Confederation (CAF) secretary-general, Hicham El Amrani, resigned on Sunday without giving an explanation. 

The 37-year-old Moroccan revealed his decision in a letter to African national football associations.

His move is probably linked to the defeat of long-serving Cameroonian Issa Hayatou by Malagasy outsider Ahmad Ahmad in the CAF presidential election this month.
