I have been issued death threats and veiled messages conveying that my life is at risk- NPA boss, Hadiza Bala says

Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, has revealed that she has received death threats and veiled messages about her life being at risk, since she assumed office in July 2016. Hadiza disclosed this while reacting to a report published by Breaking Times where she was accused of allegedly giving $25,000 bribe to some APC chieftains to help facilitate Nasir El-Rufai's future political ambitions. 

In a statement released via her twitter handle, Hadiza denied the allegations, saying she would be filing a lawsuit against the online news platform. See her tweets after the cut.

Face of one of the victims of the London terror attacked killed as she went to pick her kids from school

London experienced one of the worst terrorist attacks in recent years yesterday as a driver ploughed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge then proceeded to stab a police officer to death just outside Parliament

The identity of one of the victims has been revealed to be 43-year-old Aysha Frade. 

The victim was a teacher and mum-of-two and had been on her way to get her kids aged 8 and 11 from school when she was killed. She lived in London with her husband, John Frade and taught at DLD College. Tributes for the woman have been pouring in on social media.

N270m grass cutting allegation: SGF Babachir Lawal says he won't be honoring senate's invitation for questionning

Secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal, has written to the senate, saying he will not be appearing before its ad hoc committee on the humanitarian crisis in the north-east today.

Babachir was invited by the senate over the controversial N270 million he allegedly approved in his capacity as Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on North East PINE, for the cutting of grasses in some IDP camps.

Donald Trump Jr receives backlash after he blasts London Mayor for his 'response' to the London terror attack

After yesterday's terror attack in London, US First son, Donald Trump Jr reacted negatively when he read the headline and shared an Independent article titled: Sadiq Khan: 'London mayor says terror attacks 'part and parcel' of living in a major city.' .He tweeted:

“You have to be kidding me?!” “Terror attacks are part of living in big city, says London Mayor Sadiq Khan.”

‘I was paid N4k to cut off woman’s body part - Suspected ritualist, Toafeek Hassan confesses

Suspected ritualist, Toafeek Hassan who was caught with a woman's decapitated head and hands on Sunday, has confessed that he was paid N4000 to butcher the victim.

Taofeek who was paraded yesterday at the Ikeja command headquarters by the Lagos State Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni admitted chopping off the victim’s head with a cutlass, while two clerics (alfas) and a herbalist held onto her hands.

 

He said the cutlass used was given to him by the herbalist who contracted him for the job.
