London attack: 4 dead, 20 injured in Westminster Bridge ‘terror’ incident

Four people are dead, including a police officer and an attacker, and 20 others were injured after a car plowed into a crowd of people on Westminster Bridge in London on Wednesday afternoon in what officials are investigating as an act of terrorism.
What we know so far:
  • The knife-wielding suspect was shot outside the Houses of Parliament after crashing the car into a gate and stabbing a police officer guarding the building. Both the attacker and officer died.
  • Some of the wounded are said to have suffered “catastrophic” injuries, the U.K. Press Association reported.
  • Parliament was placed on lockdown, according to a parliamentary official.
  • British police are treating the incident as terrorism.
  • Officials said they believe there was just one attacker but a full counterterrorism investigation is under way.

Saraki Dissociates Self From Bulletproof Car Seized By Customs

Senate President Bukola Saraki has dissociated himself in the importation of a vehicle seized by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

On Tuesday, Ali Ndume, a senator from Borno state, raised a point of order asking the senate to investigate an allegation that the upper legislative chamber was exacting vengeance on Hameed Ali, comptroller-general of the customs, because the agency seized Saraki’s car.

House Of Reps - Buhari Trampled On Nigeria's Constitution

The House of Representatives has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of violating the Nigerian constitution.  

The lawmakers accused the President of illegally extending the tenure of a retired permanent secretary, Dr. Jamila Shu’ara for another year (till 2018). The House had summoned the HOS after discovering that the alleged extension of service, which was for one year, expired on February 17, 2017. 

Police Officer Stabbed In UK Parliament

An unknown attacker today attacked a police officer in the Houses of Parliament in central London. 

BBC reports that the attacker, who was shot by police officers, is reported to have earlier mowed down several pedestrians as he drove a car across Westminster Bridge. He crashed it into railings before running into the Palace of Westminster and stabbing the officer.

Gunshots were also heard during the incident. The Police are treating the incident as a terrorist attack.

Addressing journalists after Tuesday's plenary in an emotion laden voice, Melaye said it was imperative for him to clear himself of the scandal as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Disclosing that he was pursuing his 8th masters degree in crime prevention at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he got his first degree years ago, he added that his name was being smeared by those against his rising political profile. 

Police recovers the body of Dr Allwell Oji who committed suicide, family members identifies the body

The officers of the Lagos state Police Marine have recovered the body of Dr Allwell Oji who committed suicide on March 19th, 2017 by jumping into the lagoon from third mainland bridge. 
 
The body was discovered at about 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 around the CMS area of the lagoon . The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, said members of the late doctor’s family have identified the body.
