Legendary Newspaper Columnist, Jimmy Breslin dies at 88

Jimmy Breslin, the Pulitzer Prize-winning chronicler of wise guys and underdogs who became the brash embodiment of the old-time is dead. His stepdaughter, Emily Eldridge, said he died on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 88 at his Manhattan home of complications from pneumonia. He captured the 1986 Pulitzer for commentary and the George Polk Award for metropolitan reporting. More than 20 years earlier, with Gay Talese and Tom Wolfe, Breslin had helped create "New Journalism" a more literary approach to news reporting.

A star footballer is to go on trial accused of torturing and killing his mistress, then feeding her dismembered body parts to his pet dogs.

Married Bruno Fernandes de Souza, 27, a goalkeeper once tipped to play for Brazil, is alleged to have turned model Eliza Samudio 'into a human sacrifice' to preserve his reputation after she gave birth to his love child.

Goalkeeper who killed his ex-girlfriend and fed her body to dogs returns to soccer

Upon his return from prison after serving seven years for killing his ex-girlfriend and feeding her to dogs, Brazilian goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes de Souza has been signed by Boa Esporte for two years.

Bruno who was once tipped to play for Brazil was released last month on a technicality with his lawyers preparing for an appeal.

In 2010, he was arrested and three years later found guilty of homicide, kidnapping and hiding the body of his ex-girlfriend Eliza Samudio.

Man apprehended for raping his 13-year-old sister-in-law

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his wife's younger sister in Ogun state. Kingsley Chigbo, 35, reportedly molested the 13-year-old relative at Ijoko town, Ogun state. Chigbo's crime was exposed following an enlightenment talk given by the Child Protection Network, CPN, to students of Bannis College, Ijoko Ota.

After the talk, the victim approached the staff of CPN who gave the talk and informed of how her elder sister's husband has been forcefully having sex with her after which he would threaten to kill her if she told anyone. The incident was then reported to the police at Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by Peju Osoba, the immediate past Ogun State Coordinator of Child Protection Network, CPN, and the suspect was arrested.
