PDP Unveils Paid Membership Plans; Platinum Members to Pay N500k Per Year

Cash-strapped, the People's Democratic Party, PDP, is planning to monetize its operation by launching paid membership plans. 

This is the outcome of the deliberation of a highly powered 201-man committee led by former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana,

UK Vacation: I Didn't Want Nigeria Government to Move to London - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari after meeting with CBN Govenor last week said he is committed to making Nigeria better, despite just returning from a medical vacation in the UK. 

“I will not rest until I address those issues that affect our people. One of these basic things is the issue of salaries. It is most important that workers are able to feed their families, pay rent and school fees, then other things can follow,” he said. 

Ibrahim Magu Wins Leadership Person Of The Year Award

 

Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, won the 2016 Person of the Year Award by the Leadership Newspapers.  

The award was bestowed on him for “doing one of the nation’s most challenging jobs in your dogged fight against corruption, working without a letter of confirmation in that acting capacity for over one year”.

This award days after he was rejected by the Nigerian Senate. Speaking at the ceremony, Magu said, “I want to dedicate this award to all Nigerians who have supported us in the fight against corruption.''

Man Sleeps With His Daughters, Nieces to "Prepare Them for Marriage"

A 45 year old man in Zambia has been caught red-handed sleeping with one of his daughters. 

Enock Mweene of Magoye district, chief Mwanachingwala in southern Province, was on Thursday caught having sex with his daughter by his wife. 

Enock has 7 children, 3 of them are girls. According to reports, he's had sex with all of his daughters, including some of his nieces.

Dino Melaye: Why Buhari Cannot Renominate Ibrahim Magu as EFCC Chairman

Senator Dino Melaye has stated that it is against the law for President Muhammadu Buhari to renominate Ibrahim Magu as EFCC Chairman after he has been rejected by the senate for the second time. 

Citing Order 131 of the Senate Rules, Melaye said after the rejection of Magu’s nomination, his candidacy is considered lapsed.

Order 131 of the Senate Rules states: “Nominations neither confirmed nor rejected during the session or within 21 working days in the case of Ministerial nominees shall be returned by the Clerk to the National Assembly to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and shall not again be made to the Senate by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Bomb Blasts Claim 7 Lives in Maiduguri

Three suicide bombers killed four citizens of Maiduguri, Borno state on Saturday evening, according to a statement issued by Borno state Police Spokesman Victor Isuku.

“At about 2100hrs of 18/3/2917, three suicide bombers, a male and two female, attempted to infiltrate Maiduguri town through Umarari village in Molai general area.

“They were sighted by Civilian JTF and challenged. They detonated the IEDs strapped to their bodies while running to different directions.
