$9.6m: Former NNPC boss, Andrew Yakubu, arraigned in court

Former Managing Director of NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, was this morning arraigned before Justice Ahmed Mohamed of a Federal High Court in Abuja for the $9.6 million and £72,000 found inside a safe at one of his homes in Kaduna state on February 10th.

Female pilot is confirmed dead and hopes of finding her three colleagues involved in Coast Guard helicopter crash dwindles

Pilot Dara Fitzpatrick has been named as the first victim of an Irish Coast Guard helicopter which vanished before crashing into the sea. The experienced pilot was confirmed dead by the Coast Guard after her body was recovered from the water on Tuesday morning. A desperate search for her three colleagues continues, but the rescue team are beginning to lose hope of finding them.

The deceased identified as Mrs Pat Oyo Omo-Osagie was trailed by her assailants to her residence located along Adesuwa road, GRA, Benin. Until her death, the middle-aged woman operated a provision/snacks store along Agenmomen road.

Brave 4-year-old risks wolves and the subzero Siberia weather to get help for her grandmother

4-year-old Saglana Salchak has been called the bravest girl in Siberia after she walked five miles through a wolf-packed forest, across a frozen river to get help for her 60-year-old grandmother who was unconscious.

Saglana, who lives with her grandmother and blind grandfather in Tuva republic, Russia, set out with just a box of matches as temperatures dropped below 29 degrees. She walked for over three hours in the cold before she was seen by neighbours who took her to the hospital for check-up. Sadly, the grandmother she was trying to save had died of heart attack which was why she was motionless.

Vulnerable young woman commits suicide after couple beat her with lead and poured vinegar on her wounds

20-year-old Leah Ratheram hanged herself after being beaten and tortured by her neighbour Lucy Regan and her boyfriend Omaij Christie.

Leah, who suffered from Autism, Aspergers Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, was at her home in Kings Heath south Birmingham, England, when Lucy and Omaij forced their way into her flat on February 2nd.
