Update: Ethiopia declares 3days mourning, as death toll increases to 72 in garbage dump landslide


Ethiopian government has declared three days of national mourning for the 72 victims of the garbage dump landslide in the capital, Addis Ababa. As at Monday, 48 persons were confirmed dead. A new report from the authorities has revealed the death toll has increased to seventy-two following a landslide at the weekend.
Many people are still missing and authorities fear the death toll could rise even further as recovering operations are still ongoing. Family members are said to be waiting at the site day and night to hear news of their missing loved ones.

White House releases statement that Trump paid $38 Million in 2005 Federal income tax in 2005, before Rachel Maddow's report


So earlier, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow said someone leaked US President's Donald Trump's tax returns. Copies of the tax returns were anonymously sent to investigative journalist David Cay Johnston, a former New York Times reporter who covered the Internal Revenue Service for years and has written a book on Mr. Trump. Appearing with Ms. Maddow, he said he had received the forms “over the transom” and did not know who had sent them. He thinks it may have Trump himself.

Bukola Saraki renovated the only bungalow where Rashidi Yekini's mother lives - Dino Melaye


During the plenary session at the senate Tuesday, Senator Dino Melye spoke passionately about the nonchalant approach to Sports and Athletes in the country saying it needs serious review. To buttress his point, he cited an example of the senate president, Bukola Saraki being the one who renovated the only bungalow where mother and family of late super eagles legend, Rashidi Yekini left behind. He wrote:

Burundi loses 700 people in 3months as malaria 'epidemic' hits the country

At least 700 people have died from malaria in Burundi so far this year, with 1.8 million infections registered in the rising epidemic, the health minister said.
Burundi faces a malaria epidemic,' Josiane Nijimbere said Monday, commenting on a World Health Organization (WHO) report.
From January 1 to March 10 this year, 1.8 million infections were registered in Burundi, according to the WHO.
According to Nijimbere, the latest figures constitute a 17 percent increase from the same period last year.

Facebook now prohibits companies and organizations from using its services for surveillance


A new update to its policies on both Facebook and Instagram prohibits developers from using "data obtained from users to provide tools that are used for surveillance". The latest policy change comes on the heels of investigations from the ACLU, which found social media monitoring companies sold their services to law enforcement, who targeted individuals through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Social media surveillance is a growing concern, especially among people who use Facebook and Twitter for activism.
