Police nab man who specialises in stealing valuables at conferences and seminars in Lagos


The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man who specialised in stealing laptops and properties of participants at conferences and seminars in Lagos State. Ikemefuna Aje, 47, was arrested on Wednesday after he gate-crashed into a seminar organised for internet brand managers at a hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos. 
He made away with 5 MacBooks, one HP computer and some assorted personal effects of the workshop participants. Captured in the CCTV camera around the venue of the event, he was seen driving into the venue, before heading straight into the seminar hall precisely when the participants were having lunch in another room.

Nollywood actress and Producer, Kemi Afolabi was assaulted on a movie set in Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Bella Naija reports that thugs (popularly known as omo onile) disrupted the set and one of them allegedly laid hands on her, and punched her in the stomach causing her to bleed because he and his accomplices were not paid the money they requested for.

South Africa Loses Rights to Host 2022 Commonwealth Games

According to a report from the BBC, South Africa has declined the rights to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Durban. 

It was the first time the games would be held in the country.

It is believed the city did not meet the criteria set by the Commonwealth Games Federation and an announcement is expected later on today.

Durban was awarded the Games in 2015 as the only city to make a confirmed bid and it was to have been the first African host of the event.

Shehu Sani Demands Immediate Release Of Audu Maikori

Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central district on Monday demanded the immediate release of Chocolate city boss, Audu Maikori.

The senator described the latest arrest and incarceration of the Chocolate City boss as an affront to constitutional democracy.

“The case of Audu is becoming a stain and embarrassment to our country as a constitutional democracy,” Mr. Sani told Premium Times on Monday.

Two years after the death of his wife and mother of his kids, Football star and TV Pundit Rio Ferdinand was pictured leaving the house of reality TV star Katie Wright in the morning after spending the night with her last week in pictures released today.
 
Former Man U captain, Rio Ferdinand,  38, whose wife died of cancer in May 2015, drove to Kate’s house on Wednesday after appearing on BT Sport and then left on Thursday — followed later by Kate, 25, in Brentwood, Essex.
 His friends and  family members are happy that he's getting his love life back on track once again.
A source close to the footballer said to Sun UK: “Rio went through hell when Rebecca died and he has been grieving for her for a long time, all while caring for their children.
