36 people infected with Anthrax in Tanzania after eating cow meat


Authorities in Tanzania are reporting an anthrax outbreak in the Northern District of Hai, after 36 people were infected with the serious bacterium from consuming carcass of a cow. The victims, who all were rushed to the hospital, presented themselves with symptoms of swollen eyes, lesions on the face, hands, cheeks and fingers last week. 
According to Elias Machange, the head of Livestock and Fisheries Department at Hai District Council, he said the disease was reported few days ago when people in the area ate meat from a cow.
Hai District council executive director, Yohana Sintoo who also confirmed the outbreak of the disease, said it had affected three villages of Sanya Station, and Tindigani in Kia ward and Nkwasira village in Masama Westward.

Russian mayor declares his town a 'gay-free zone' and receives backing from colleagues

Sergey Davydov, mayor of the Russian town of Svetogorsk has declared the place a gay-free zone drawing ridicule from the public. Critics have branded the former military commissioner a 'clown' and an 'idiot' for supposing he has no homosexual people among a population of 15,000 but despite the backlash, he remained resolute saying 'there are and will be no gays' in his town.
Davydov decided to bring in the ban when he found out that the local bakery was selling penis-shaped lollipops.

Senior Special Assistant on protocol to Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, Farouk Farouk, was killed in a fatal accident along the Abuja-Kaduna expresway yesterday. His driver sustained serious injuries and is currently in a hospital. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
