France: Presidential Candidate Arrrested For Protesting Semi-Naked

Cindy Lee, 52, a former stripper who wants to run for the French presidential election was arrested for campaigning topless. 

DAILY MAIL UK reports that Lee was handing out pamphlets and talking to voters while she was wearing just a pair of hotpants and tassels covering each nipple. She stopped motorists to hand out her manifesto, which includes pumping money into projects to help residents enjoy a more fulfilled sex life. 

Xenophobia: Falana Threatens To Sue South African Govt

Femi Falana, Popular Nigerian Human Rights Lawyer has written to the President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, threatening to sue the South African government over the recent xenophobic attacks in the country.  

In the letter dated March 9, Falana wrote, ''We believe that it is the failure of your government to bring perpetrators to justice and protect the victims of the xenophobic attacks that has resulted in a vicious cycle of attacks and impunity.

Buhari To Return To Nigeria On Friday, March 10 - Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari will return to Nigeria on Friday, 10th March, 2017. 
The President's return was announced via a press release by his media aide, Femi Adesina. The Statement read, ''President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to return to the country tomorrow, Friday March 10, 2017.''

UNFPA appoints Stephaine Okereke-Linus as Regional Maternal Health ambassador for West & Central Africa


The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has appointed actress, Stephaine Okereke-Linus as the Regional Maternal Health Ambassador for West & Central Africa. 

Speaking about her new role, Stephaine said: "I am proud to partner with UNFPA as they work to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted. Safe child birth for African mothers is one cause we all need to fight for!"

Guatemala declares 3 days of national mourning after fire kills 22 girls in shelter (Photos)


Guatemala government has declared three days of mourning after a fire swept through a home for abused teenagers and children, killing at least 22 girls on Wednesday.


According to a police report, the blaze started when some residents who had been isolated by authorities set mattresses ablaze following an overnight attempt to escape from the overcrowded center.
All those killed at the Virgin of the Assumption Safe Home in San Jose Pinula, were aged between 14 and 17. 
A total of 38 other people were injured, 16 of them in critical condition, hospital officials said.
