US Attorney General Jeff Sessions reportedly about his contacts with Russian authorities during the Senate confirmation hearings in January. 

Top congressional Democrats called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign Wednesday after it was revealed that he had met with the Russian ambassador in the months before the election; POLITICO reports. 

The revelation cast a fresh cloud over President Donald Trump’s administration, which has repeatedly denied any suspected ties between members of his election team and Russia.

Zimbabwe President, Mugabe Flown To Singapore For Medical Checkup

Obviously looking frail already, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has been flown to Singapore for a medical checkup on Wednesday, his spokesman told Reuters, days after he celebrated his 93rd birthday by vowing to add to his 36 years in charge of the southern African nation.

As Mugabe flew to Singapore, nurses at public hospitals joined junior doctors in a two-week strike that is meant to pressure Mugabe's government into paying 2016 bonuses due in December.

Naira Gains 4.7% To 535 Against Pound At Parallel Market

Naira on Thursday morning trading recorded 4.67 per cent gain at the parallel market, exchanging at N535 to a pound from 560 previous day.

The US dollar and the Euro remained at the parallel market at N455 and N460 respectively.

At the Bureau De Change window, the Naira was sold at N399 to a dollar, the Central Bank of Nigeria-controlled rate, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N610 and N500 respectively.

Oscars 2017 Blunder: PwC Accountants Barred From Future Shows


The two accountants found who made error announcement of the winner for best picture at the Academy Awards have been officially declared unfit for any future Oscar duty, organizers of the ceremony said on Wednesday.

Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz, blamed for the envelope mix-up that led "La La Land" to be being erroneously named best film before "Moonlight" was declared the actual winner, are still employed as partners of the prestigious accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a company spokesman said.

In the wake of the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, a group of Niger Delta militants have threatened to blow up major South African investments in Nigeria such as Multichoice (DSTV), MTN, Shoprite and 16 others if the Federal Government fails to shut them down within one month.

The coalition which consist of militants from Niger Delta Watchdogs, Niger Delta Volunteers and Niger Delta Strike Force, made the threat in a statement released yesterday. The statement in part reads
