Man kills his wife, only daughter in Abuja because he couldn't feed them



The Police in Abuja have arrested 40-year-old Dominic Iyayi Ogar, a native of Okpoma village in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State, over the gruesome murder of his 27 year old wife, Omago and their two year old daughter, Blessing, at their home in Mpape, Abuja on October 8th.

Sunday Sun reports that Ogar on the day of the incident, slept on the same bed with his wife and daughter and in the middle of the night, took a knife and stabbed both of them to death.

According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Mustafa, Ogar after carrying out the dastard act, carried the corpses of his wife and daughter to a nearby nursery and primary school in the area where he left them there after writing a little note and dropped it beside the corpses. He then ran off to hide in his farm.

One of his neighbours, Destiny Onwusuaka, woke up the next morning to see trails of blood from the Ogar's apartment.

Police nabs child trafficking syndicate in Akwa Ibom, rescue 2-month-old baby sold for N450,000


 The Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested a child trafficking syndicate and a woman for allegedly buying a 2-month-old baby for N450,000.

The suspected traffickers were paraded to journalists on Saturday, October 22, at the state police headquarters in Uyo. Those paraded included a homeopathic doctor, Eneyo Nyang, who is accused of running the baby factory, two teenage girls and a twenty-four year- old mother Comfort Effiong, who had sold her two-month old baby to a 51-year-old woman, Rose Edwardfor N450,000.

'He deflowered me by force' - Tricycle rider abducts girl, 15, in Lagos


The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a tricycle rider, popularly called, "Keke Marwa", for allegedly abducting a 15 - year old girl and turning her into sex slave.


The suspect, Dada Azeez, 28,  abducted Bukunmi on October 5 while on errand for her aunt in Agege area before the RRS operatives rescued her on October 21th, 2016 from his hideout in Agege.

The alleged abduction of the girl was disclosed by her sister, Mrs Gbemisola, who stated that the girl was abducted with a sum of N58,000:00 meant for  her thrift contribution.

The suspect, after weeks of lodging in several locations to evade arrest, was eventually nabbed by the operatives at his residence at 7, Oseni Street, Danjuma Cinema area, Agege with the girl in his one room apartment.
Confessing to the crime, the suspect disclosed that he wooed the girl when she was 14 years old at her sister' shop in Agege. "We started having secret affair about a year ago. But her sister frowned at our relationship when she got to know.

UAE woman pioneer Ameera Bin Karam, her mother and sister laid to rest after dying in house fire

Sharjah Business Council member and director of the Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness group, Ameera Bin Karam was buried today along with her mother and sister.

Karam, 38, her sister Sama, 40, and their mother Badriya Abdul Rahman, 57, were killed yesterday, Saturday October 22, due to smoke inhalation after fire broke out at their Sharjah villa. 
 
Bin Karam's brother Khalid, 32, was critical when he was rushed to Al Qassimi Hospital. He is currently being treated and recovering.

The funeral which was held today was attended by top officials led by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development. The funeral prayer was held at Al Sahaba Mosque following the midday prayer. 

The UAE Businesswomen Council mourned the death of Bin Karam, whom they described as a "role model of a working citizen".
 
"During her service, Ameera contributed to empowering and strengthening the economic status of women. She was a role model of a working citizen who attaches utmost importance to the interests of the country. She never hesitated to work and never spared any effort to give or fulfil achievements," said Mariam Mohammad Al Rumaithi, Chairwoman of the Emirates Business Women Council.

Actor Leo Mezie speaks from hospital bed in London, thanks Nollywood and Nigerians

Nollywood actor Leo Mezie, who was flown to London for his Kidney treatment is said to be responding well to treatment. Speaking from his sick bed in London, Leo thanked all those who provided financial assistance to make it possible for him to go to London. He said:

EFCC raids Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia’s home


Barely 72 hours after turning herself in to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Rita Ofili-Ajimogobia residence got raided by operatives of the EFCC during which ‘vital’ documents belonging to Ofili that may point to criminal breaches were allegedly retrieved.

According to Vanguard Sunday, a top operative said that bank accounts of the woman and those of her children were also taken away by the security operatives during the raid.

“A search was conducted on the residence of Justice Rita Ofili- Ajumogobia by operatives of the EFCC and the search yielded documents that would assist the commission’s investigations, including bank accounts in her name and those bearing the names of her children and property title both in Nigeria and abroad”.
