See Jibrin Withdrew Old Suit Against Dogora Others To Reinforce


He didn’t chicken out, he actually reinforced! Former Chairman, Appropriation Committee, House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has filed a N1bn suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja challenging his suspension from the House after he withdrew the old suit on Friday.

His lawyer, Chukwuma Nwachukwu, moved his application for discontinuance of the earlier suit on Friday and informed the court that a fresh originating summons had been filed before the court.

Justice John Tsoho however struck out the earlier suit filed by the lawmaker following the motion for withdrawal of the suit. And a fresh suit demanding N1bn from the lawmakers is now before the court.

Recall he was suspended by the House of Representatives for 180 legislative days on September 28.

EFCC Re-Arrests Fani-Kayode


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today picked up former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode within the premises of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Fani-Kayode was stopped by three EFCC operatives at about 1:55pm just as he stepped out of Justice Muslim Sule Hassan’s court where he and four others were on trial on a N4.9 billion money laundering charge leveled against them by the commission.

The operatives, one dressed in white kaftan and the others in black suits, flanked his sides, and requested that he followed them to the commission but allowed him to speak to the press, where he confirmed the arrest.

The Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative (AFRISEI) has rejected allegations of franchise infringement by the Bring Back Our Girls group, led by former Education Minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili.

According to a statement jointly signed by the President of the Non-Governmental Organization, Hajiya Hadiza Buhari Bello, a daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari and the secretary, Don Uche, she said that their organization is a responsible body that would never engage in illegal activities by stealing someone else’s franchise.

'President Buhari is no hater of women' - Kemi Adeosun says

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has described President Buhari as a lover of women as this has shown in the appointments of females in top positions in his administration. Adeosun said this while reacting to the outcry from President Buhari's recent comment that his wife belongs to the Kitchen, living room and the other room. Speaking on a BBC programme yesterday, Adeosun said
“I think the fact that he has appointed women into very senior positions says his view about women. I work with him very closely and I don’t see any misogynistic tendencies in him. In fact if for anything, I think he is very much in favor of women” - she said

President of Nigeria Guild of Cinematographers, Prince Afam Chiazor dies just a day to his birthday


The Nigerian movie industry woke to the sad news that the President of Nigeria Guild of Cinematographers, Prince Afam Chiazor who is supposed to be celebrating his birthday today, died last night.

Several of his colleagues who took to his Facebook wall to wish the Cinematographer a happy birthday were shocked to hear of his sudden and shocking demise. The cause of his death is yet to be known. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are putting their Chateau Miraval estate in France & its prized vineyards believed to blossom with rich rose wine juice up for sale. The 1,200-acre property was purchased by the now estranged couple for an estimated sum of $60 million back in 2012.

The chateau which they had previously leased, starting in 2008, is surrounded by forests, olive groves and a lake and had served as the venue for their 2014 wedding and also gave them a hideaway from the cameras and children when needed.

The show, which experienced touches of classic, country, blues, Broadway, gospel, Motown, Latin and jazz music featured performances by Usher, Jill Scott, The Roots, Bell Biv DeVoe, Janelle Monae, De La Soul and Yolanda Adams, while Actors Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse Williams of Grey's Anatomy and Angela Bassett among others made guest appearances.
