Photos: Protest In Rivers State over the assassination of APC lawyer, Ken Atsuwete
Members of the Civil Society Organization in Rivers state, today staged a peaceful protest to the state police command over the recent assassination of an APC lawyer and political activist, Ken Atsuwete which occurred last Sunday August 28th. Among the protesters were NDDC Acting Managing Director Ibim Semenitari. More photos after the cut.
Fans blast Man City coach Pep Guardiola after he omits Yaya Toure from Champions League squad
Pep Guardiola's Man City released its champions league squad today ahead of the coming European season and suprisingly left out four time African footballer of the year from the list.
Guardiola is only permitted to include 17 foreign players, he removed 33 year old Toure but included Nigeria's Iheanacho, football fans upon seeing the list took to twitter to register their displeasure with Pep, while some wondered why Yaya hadn't left the club since. Guardiola sold Yaya Toure when he was at Barcelona.

Photos: 17-year-old boy's hands chopped off for allegedly stealing medicinal plant
A teenage boy had his hands chopped off with machetes after being accused of stealing miraa.(medicinal flowering plant )
The 17-year-old victim, who hails from Mporoko village, was attacked by seven men while coming from a nearby shop. He sustained a deep cut on his head while both hands were chopped off at the wrist during the attack and is currently recuperating at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kenya.
