Police Officers Storm Wedding, Arrest Groom, Pack Cakes

Some men of the Nigeria Police Force last weekend bumped into a wedding celebration, and rounded up the groom. The incident, according to DailyPost, reportedly happened in Amuloko area of Ibadan, Oyo State. The arrested groom, popularly called in the area as ‘Togo’, was suspected to be a member of an armed robbery gang. He was arrested alongside some members of his family and that of the bride.
According to reports, the police stormed the venue, packed the wedding cakes and some other items meant for the wedding.

Policemen attached to the Abura Dunkwa District Command, Ghana, have arrested a Stephen Enyan, a senior laboratory assistant at the District Hospital for allegedly selling blood of pregnant women to ‘sakawa’ boys (cyber fraudsters) for money rituals.

Enyan is reported to have sold blood samples of pregnant women to sakawa boys. He allegedly hides part of the blood samples he takes from pregnant women who visit the hospital for antenatal checks and sells them.

Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reiterated the importance of stamping out corruption out of the country's system. 

Speaking on Tuesday while he recieved a delegation of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers in Abuja, Osinbajo said the Muhammadu Buhari is doing everything it can to eradicate the menace.

Professor Dapo Folorunsho Asaju, Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, ACU, Oyo State, has ordered that the school be shut. 

Prof Asaju’s directive may not be unconnected to a physical assault on him by male students at the weekend.
A 300L student of the institution on condition of anonymity told Daily Post that the VC has equally ordered disciplinary action against the students.

The Boko Haram commanders are facing charges of killing 11 foreigners in Northern Nigeria between 2011 and 2013.
Justice John Tsoho at a Federal High Court in Abuja had on March 14 ordered the remand of the defendants at the Kuje Prisons in Abuja following their arraignment on an 11 counts charge of terrorism.

205 members of staff at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been suspended and placed on half salary, after the consideration of a report by the Disciplinary Committee set up to look into an interim report by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing some of its officials of fraud during the 2015 General Elections.

INEC claims N3 billion was spent in bribing electoral commissioners in 16 states during the 2015 general election.

Zimbabwe Banks To Accept Goats, TV Sets As Collateral For Loans

Banks in Zimbabwe may soon be compelled to accept livestock such as cattle, goats and sheep as collateral for cash loans to informal businesses. 

Bloomberg reports that a bill for the acceptance of livestock as collateral is currently before the Zimbabwean parliament. Vehicles, television sets, refrigerators, computers and other household appliances will also become acceptable as collateral.

Trump plans to move ahead with aircraft sale to Nigeria


US President Donald Trump’s administration is reportedly moving forward with plans to sell up to a dozen aircraft to Nigeria’s air force for the fight against the extremist group, Boko Haram.
