Enugu State Police begin investigation after female corps member drowns in pool

The Enugu State Police Command have commenced full scale investigations into the alleged circumstances surrounding the alleged drowning of a corp member on April 8, at a hotel swimming pool in Ugwuoba, Enugu.


It was gathered that a group of Corps members had allegedly gone to a hotel at Ugwuoba in Enugu state identified as Hotel De Oranzi Resort Agungwu Ogbooo Ugwuoba, for picnicking and in the ensuing swimming rendezvous, one of them whose name is yet to be established allegedly drowned. 

She was later rescued and rushed to General Hospital Amaku Awka for medical attention but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

Meanwhile the dead body of the deceased corps member have been deposited at the hospital morgue while efforts are being intensified to establish the full identity of the corps member. 

Two persons have been nabbed in connection with the alleged incident and they are helping the operatives in their investigations.
