Rio Olympics: D'Tigers basket ball team suffer second defeat, lose to Lithuania

Nigeria’s D’Tigers’ chances at Rio 2016 of making it to the quarter-finals of the men’s basketball event was dealt a huge blow on Tuesday night as they lost 89-80 in their second game to world No.3 Lithuania.



At half-time, captain of D'Tigers, Ike Diogu recorded 11 points, Alade Aminu scored six points while Umeh had eight points as the Nigerians led 41-36 but in the second half Lithuania bounced back and went 16 points clear to lead 65-54. The match ended 89-80 to Lithuania's favour. Nigeria meet Spain next on Thursday.
