Mom Cries Out After British Daughter Was Battered By Husband, Jailed, Then Released, But Won’t Be Allowed To Leave Bahrain


Hannah James, whose family is from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire was thrown in a jail cell in Bahrain a month ago and was said to be surviving on three meals of rice and water a day.

The 26-year-old had been accused of adultery under the country's ultra conservative rules. But her family says she only faced the accusation when she threatened to leave Bahrain after her husband Jassim Alhaddar turned violent.

He was put in hospital Lavery, who insisted she only lashed out to escape the randy widower in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

Arik Air Threatens Disruptive Customers, Vows ‘All Measures’


Arik Air on Thursday lamented incessant attacks by some aggrieved passengers on its staff and property at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The airline made this known in a statement signed by its Communications Manager, Ola Adebanji.

The statement said the airline staff and property were attacked by the passengers on Wednesday while its flight operations were disrupted again on Thursday.

It said the issue started when the airline’s Lagos-New York flight was rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday due to lack of aviation fuel.

“Our Lagos-Johannesburg service and Lagos- Accra service were also on ground awaiting fuel while the Lagos-New York service was standing by for fuel.

“Aviation fuel supply has been epileptic in the country over the past weeks where availability of stock and terms of service are not guaranteed on a consistent basis by the marketers.

Rivers State Government reacts to sack of Police Officers, calls for their immediate reinstatement

The Rivers state government has reacted to the sack of six police officers attached to the state governor, Nyesom Wike, who were accused of being used during the state's legislative rerun election held in December last year. A statement released by the state commissioner for Information, Austin Tam-George, says the dismissed officers committed no crime other than helping to stop a planned assassination of Governor Wike.
