Two Minors Held For Abducting, Killing 3-Year Old In Mumbai


The Mumbai police Saturday arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, for allegedly kidnapping and killing a three-and-a-half-year-old neighbour for ransom. The duo, who had seen the girl’s family receiving visitors in high end cars, had allegedly decided to abduct her at least a year ago.

They strangulated the girl with the cord of a mobile phone charger on December 5, the day they kidnapper her, though they demanded a Rs 1-crore ransom, said investigators.  According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 Manoj Kumar Sharma, Juneiza Khan, a resident of Nagpada, was reported missing on December 5.

Her parents approached the JJ Marg police station, where a missing person’s complaint was registered. Posters bearing the girl’s photograph were pasted in the locality, seeking information on her.

Status Quo Guitarist Rick Parfitt Dies At 68 From Infection 'Caught In Hospital'


Status Quo rocker Rick Parfitt OBE has died suddenly on holiday, aged 68 - after suffering a severe infection 'he caught in hospital'.

The musician passed away at the hospital he was admitted to in Spain on Thursday, his manager confirmed in a statement this afternoon.

It's claimed the veteran musician was taken in after suffering complications from a previous shoulder injury - but picked up a severe infection while he was there.

Berlin Attack: Police Arrest Nephew Of Christmas Market Terror Suspect


An 18-year-old nephew of Berlin truck terrorist Anis Amri has been arrested in Tunisia, amid claims he is part of a terror cell and planned to travel to Europe. Police swooped to arrest the teenager, named as Fedi, and two other jihadist suspects.

A statement from Tunisia's interior ministry said the three were members of a 'terrorist cell connected to the terrorist Anis Amri who carried out the terrorist attack in Berlin'.

The ministry said Amri had sent Fedi money to join him in Europe.

It is unclear whether the suspects helped Amri flee Berlin. The interior ministry said Amri had sent money to his nephew and encouraged him to pledge allegiance to ISIS.

'One of the members of the cell is the son of the sister of the terrorist (Amri) and during the investigation he admitted that he was in contact with his uncle through (the messaging service) Telegram,' it said.

Trouble? FIFA Tells NFF, Return Cash You Can't Account For


World football governing body FIFA has warned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to refund any cash paid to them for football development they could not account for.

This followed a rash of queries raised by FIFA over the $801,229 development grant they paid the NFF. The review was done between August 16 to 18, 2016.The audit by PricewaterhouseCoppers (PwC) said the money was spent without supporting documentation, like receipts, invoices and contracts.

FIFA has therefore warned that if the NFF could not provide adequate supporting documentation for the disbursements, it should make refund on sums unaccounted for. They also expressed displeasure with the unrestrained practice of cash payments, which they maintained should have been greatly minimized.
