AFCON 2017: Cameroon boycott training over bonus

The Cameroonian national team on Monday, January 30, 2017, refused to train ahead of their semi-final clash with Ghana. The Indomitable Lions are demanding qualification bonuses after edging out Senegal in the quarterfinal game, where they stunned the favourites 5-4 on post match penalties following a goalless draw last week.
According to several reports, the players are demanding 12 million CFA francs per player as a qualification bonus for the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. The Cameroonian government offered the team 10 million CFA per player, but the players rejected the amount.

The Indomitable Lions are scheduled to take on Black Stars of Ghana at the Stade de Franceville in the Gabonese city of Franceville on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
