Photos of South Africans looting broken down truck transporting drinks

A truck transporting cool drinks broke down on the N12 West Motorway between Voortrekker and Comaro Road off ramps, South Africa on December 2.
Photos showed looters carrying 2 litre six packs while others were carrying 2 litre bottles in twos or more.

People in vehicles were also pulling off in droves and stealing stock from the truck. Even a Sasko delivery truck stopped and loaded some stolen stock. The looters were so many that they even caused a traffic jam on the Motorway.

Police have been called to the scene. JMPD Spokeswoman Superintendent Edna Mamonyane said:

"It is theft. You can be charged and arrested for doing that"

Photos of the looting have been trending on social media. A community member Mike Khumalo said he was shocked to see what was happening.
