PDP Crisis: What Jonathan Said After Sheriff Stormed Out Of Meeting

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has said that nothing would stop the People's Democratic Party, PDP from getting out of the crisis and regaining power in 2019. 

Mr. Jonathan said this in response to walk-stage out by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his faction during the stakeholders' forum in Abuja on Thursday.

He described Sheriff's action as a minor setback which will be resolved after the committee submits it report in two weeks.

Boko Haram Torches Nigeria Military Base, Kills 4 Soldiers - AFP

Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a military base in Northeast Nigeria, a day after killing 7 civilians in the area, AFP reports.

According to a witness, the terrorists also killed 4 soldiers. 

“Our men came under attack near Gubdori village yesterday,” the soldier told AFP, asking not to be named.

Sule Lamido's Presidential Posters Flood Lagos PDP Secretariat

2019 presidential posters of Alhaji Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa state has surfaced at the secretariat of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state. 

Daily Trust, reports that the posters were pasted at strategic areas of the secretariat right from the entrance. Some members of the party were also wearing branded T-shirts with inscription ‘Lamido for 2019’.

Nigerian Bank Accounts 'Hacked' by North Korea

Nigeria has been named among 18 countries whose financial institutions were recently hacked into by North Korea. 

According to Russian cyber security firm Kaspersky, the hacking operation, “Lazarus” attacked financial institutions in Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Gabon, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Taiwan, Thailand and Uruguay.

Russia has condemned US President Donald Trump for launching an airstrike on a Syrian military base for a chemical attack on civilians. 

Kremlin on Friday issued a strong statement describing the US move as “aggression against a sovereign nation”.

Moscow said the strikes had been carried out on an “invented pretext” and claimed the Syrian army did not have chemical weapons.
