If Nigeria is broken into components, Northern Nigeria will be poorest – Emir of Kano says


Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammad II says if Nigeria were to break up into components today, Northern N‎igeria would be the poorest countries in the world.

The Monarch said this in his key note address during the opening ceremony of Kaduna State’s Investment and Economic summit (KADINVEST), titled ‘Promoting Investment Amidst Economic Challenges’ in Kaduna state today April 5th.

PDP has asked the Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari to resign from office over his comments that God sent the meningitis outbreak to Nigeria due to the prevalence of premarital sex in the country.

In a statement released by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the National Publicity Secretary PDP NCC‎, the party asked Governor Yari not to incur God's wrath by blaming the meningitis outbreak on sin. ‎

Naira is Overvalued, Not Worth Less than 400 Per Dollar- IMF

The International Monetary Fund, IMF, on Wednesday stated that the Nigerian Naira is overvalued. 

Gene Leon, IMF mission chief for Nigeria, said this according to a report from Reuters. 

According to Mr. Leon, the naira overvaluation is “somewhere to the tune of 10 to 20 per cent.”
This means the naira should exchange for more than the amount it is being exchanged for at the moment. The currency on Wednesday exchanged for 398 per dollar at the parallel market.
