Man pleads guilty to beating 7-year-old son to death, feeding his remains to pigs


A 41-year-old Kansas man admitted to killing his 7-year-old son and feeding his body to pigs.
Michael A Jones pleaded guilty in Wyandotte County District Court last Friday, March 31, to one count of first-degree murder over the death of child Adrian Jones. The boy’s remains were found in a barn at a home rented by Jones and his wife, 31 year old Heather Jones.. 
The crime scene was “one of the worst things” investigators had seen in their careers, according to Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman.

Meningitis outbreak is God's way of punishing Nigerians for fornicating - Zamfara state Gov. Yari


Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, has attributed the current meningitis outbreak in some states in the North to God's anger on the people of the region for engaging in fornication. According to Yari, because people have refused to stop their nefarious activities, God decided to send Type C virus of the disease which has no vaccination.
Over 300 people have died since the outbreak of the disease.

Police to pay N20M damages for brutalising woman in Ekiti

A state High Court sitting in Ikere Ekiti on Monday awarded a sum of N20m damages against the Ekiti State Police Command for illegal detention and brutalization of a 51-year-old woman.
The presiding Judge, Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi, also awarded another N250,000 cost against the police to cover the medical expenses of the woman as a result of the unlawful detention and beating she suffered in detention.
The victim, Mrs. Sola Aregbesola, was mercilessly tortured and detained for 72 hours at Ilawe Police Station in October 2016 over an illicit love affair between her husband and another woman.

Members of The Gambia Bar Association, GBA, have protested against the appointment of four Nigerians as High Court judges.

The newly appointed Nigerian High Court judges are Justice Edward Ogar, Justice Mathias Olusegun Agboola, Justice Simeon Abi and Justice Matins U. Okoi.

In a statement signed by Secretary-General of the association, the GBA stated that the bar association shall proceed to file an action to challenge the said appointments, to seek an order quashing same and to seek necessary prohibitive relief.
