South Africa’s Opposition Parties TEAM UP To Unseat Zuma


South Africa’s opposition parties would embark on a national march to the Union Buildings next week as part of their ongoing efforts to remove President Jacob Zuma from power.

Leaders of the Democratic Alliance (DA, the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Inkatha Freedom Party IFP, United Christian Democratic Party (ACDP), Congress of the People (Cope) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) held a meeting in Johannesburg.

PDP women commend ex-President Jonathan’s mediation as party holds key stakeholders meeting


The People’s Democratic Party Women’s Forum has commended the roles being played by former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan towards resolving the differences in the party.
The women who made this known during a courtesy call to the ex-President in his Abuja Office on Monday, stressed that they were completely in support of the efforts of the former President.
In a press release by Ikechukwu Eze, Media Adviser to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan , leader of the group Senator Biodun Olujimi, former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate told newsmen after the meeting that PDP women believe in the leadership roles of the former President, adding that Jonathan would be part of a major stakeholders meeting this Thursday which would bring together representatives from all the organs and interest groups in the party.

A 19-year-old Pius Kyere has been denied admission into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Medical School, Ghana.

Pius a graduate of St James Seminary and Secondary School, Brong Ahafo, Ghana, scored straight As in all eight subjects at the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) – adjudged as the best WASSCE result in West Africa. 

Enugu Police Arrests Masquerade’s Assistant, Threatens To Nab Others

The Police Command in Enugu State has warned masquerades and their assistants against assault, molestation, and intimidation of Nigerians in the state under whatever guise. 

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, gave the warning in a statement in Enugu on Monday.

NYSC Adjusts Batch A Timetable, Registration Commences April 20

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has adjusted the 2017 Batch A mobilization timetable for prospective corps members. 

NYSC made this announcement on Monday in a tweet on its official twitter handle. @nysc_ng.

“NYSC 2017 Batch A timetable has been updated. Online registration to NOW commence: 20th April, 2017”.

CBN Pumps $240m In Forex Market To Crash Dollar

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, on Monday injected $90 million to meet requests by bank customers, in its bid to sustain the supply of foreign exchange and ensure liquidity in the market.

The spokesperson of the bank, Isaac Okorafor, who confirmed the figure, said the fresh release is to meet invisibles such as basic and personal transport allowances, medical bills and school fees.
