N963m fraud: Court sentences oil subsidy fraudster, Rowaye Jubril, to 10 years imprisonment

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, secured the conviction of Rowaye Jubril, Managing Director, Brila Energy Limited, before Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the State High Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. The convict was arraigned alongside his company, Brila Energy Limited, sometime in November 2012 on a 13-count charge bordering on forgery and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N963,796,199.85 (Nine Hundred and Sixty-three Million Seven Hundred and Ninety-six Thousand One Hundred and Ninety-nine Naira Eighty-five Kobo).

Mother who abandoned her 2 year old in grocery store has been identified and arrested

The woman who police believe abandoned her 2-year-old daughter on Sunday at a Riverside supermarket in California– and said “Oh, just leave her,” when a bystander tried to reunite them – has outraged the local community and drawn national attention. The woman, 31 year old  Chiengkham Vilaysane  has been identified and arrested.

The intense scrutiny following the Riverside Police Department’s release of surveillance video from the store helped generate tips that led police to identify and then locate the suspect. Vilaysane was taken in for questioning, then booked into jail about 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Anthony Joshua shows off his insanely huge body as he gets in shape for Klitschko clash

Anthony Joshua is hard at work whipping himself into shape ahead of his April 29th bout with Wladimir Klitschko.
