Nigerian man sentenced to 20 years for drugging, raping and trafficking 15-year-old South African girl


Nigerian national, Ugochukwu Eke was on Monday, March 13th, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Johannesburg High Court for drugging and sexually exploiting an underage girl, living off the earnings of sexual exploitation and being an accomplice to her rape and trafficking 
Eke committed the crimes in 2015. 

Judge Majake Mabesele read out the charges that Eke was facing which included sexual exploitation of a child, living off the earnings of sexual exploitation, being an accomplice to rape and contravening the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act.

NBA player is fined $35,000 for using his fingers to make a gun and pointing it at a rival player during on-court confrontation

NBA player, Brandon Jennings, was ejected from a game and fined $35,000 for making his finger into a gun and pointing it at their rival team's player during a furious on-court confrontation.
The game played at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Arizona had been between Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns.
The dispute started with a rare back-court foul during the second quarter of the game, when Washington Wizards' centre Jason Smith was called on a hard screen against Phoenix Suns' guard Tyler Ulis. As Smith and Ulis got into a heated war of words, Ulis' teammate Jared Dudley came over and bumped Smith with his chest and forehead, thereby escalating the argument. Both teams crowded the court and began exchanging words and that was when Jennings made the finger gun gesture at Suns forward Dudley that landed him in trouble.

Nigeria: Naira Appreciates Against All Major Currencies at Parallel Market

The Nigerian Naira on Monday gained against the Dollar, Pounds and the Euros at the black market. 

The currency gained three points to exchange at N460 against the dollar, from N463 it opened trading on Monday. 

It also gained against the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N550 and 476, respectively.

At the Bureau De Change window, the Naira was sold at N399 to a dollar, CBN controlled rate, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro traded at N547 and N482, respectively.

CAF Presidency: Buhari Orders NFF to Vote Hayatou Despite Pinnick's Open Support for Ahmad

The Federal Government has directed President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick to back Issa Hayatou of Cameroon to be re-elected as the President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF. 

Amaju Pinnick had earlier openly declared support for Hayatou’s main challenger, Ahmad Ahmad, Punch reports.

An order from on high instructed Amaju to vote for Hayatou, an NFF official said.

A senior Presidency official also corroborated the claim, saying a meeting chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo ordered Pinnick to vote for Hayatou because of Nigerian ties with Cameroon.
