Atletico Madrid confirm Fernando Torres is 'okay' after suffering from life threatening head clash


The former Chelsea, Liverpool and current Atletico Madrid striker is now in a stable condition after collapsing and losing consciousness during a clash of heads in Atletico Madrid's match with Deportivo La Coruna on Thursday night.

Kenneth Okonkwo, John Fashanu and Rachel Becham inducted as Anti-Human Trafficking Ambassadors


Actor Dr. Kenneth Okonkwo, Ambassador John Fashanu, and media personality Rachel Becham were Friday, inducted as Anti-Human Trafficking Ambassadors. The trio were awarded certificates by NAPTIP Assitant Director of Intelligence, Daniel Atokolo. 

Ghanaian president's daughter appointed to the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture

Ghana's Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherin Afeku has appointed  Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the Creative Arts Council. Gyankroma was on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, inaugurated alongside two other new members at a ceremony which held in Accra. According to the minister, the three of them will select the rest of the Council’s members and also set up the right framework under the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.

Zimbabwean editor and Journalist arrested over President Mugabe 'health scare' story

Zimbabwean police have arrested an editor and senior reporter of the privately-owned News Day newspaper for 'undermining President Robert Mugabe'.
The editor, Wisdom Mudzungairi was arrested with senior reporter Richard Chidza, who wrote the story that claimed Mugabe was 'in fresh health scare'. 
In the story, NewsDay alleged that Mugabe had 'sneaked out of the country" on Wednesday in 'a bad shape'.

Prisoner violently attempts to strangle a prison guard with a towel but fellow inmates intervene to save the guard (Video)

A video has emerged of a prisoner in Florida attacking a guard and trying to strangle him with a towel before he was overpowered by fellow inmates. The attack was captured by security cameras inside the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa. It showed inmate Kiondre Zachery, 22, try to strangle Deputy D. Hernandez,31, on Tuesday. Zachery is seen in the video walking towards Hernandez' as he stood in a jail pod filled with other inmates.

Tanzanian president, John Maguguli orders the seizure of expatriate passports

Tanzanian President, John Magufuli on Friday ordered the confiscation of passports belonging to foreign employees of an Indian infrastructure company managing a water project that is running late.
'The president has ordered that the passport of Rajendra Kumar, should be seized along with the travel documents of his assistants until they complete the water project,' Magufuli’s office said in a statement.
