Xenophobic attacks: Shut down MTN, Shoprite, DSTV, others or we will blow them up- Niger Delta militants to FG


In the wake of the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, a group of Niger Delta militants have threatened to blow up major South African investments in Nigeria such as Multichoice (DSTV), MTN, Shoprite and 16 others if the Federal Government fails to shut them down within one month.

The coalition which consist of militants from Niger Delta Watchdogs, Niger Delta Volunteers and Niger Delta Strike Force, made the threat in a statement released yesterday. The statement in part reads

Notorious kidnap kingpin, Vampire who was rescued by his gang members at the Owerri High Court has been killed


The Police Special Force led by the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has killed notorious kidnap kingpin and armed robbery suspect, Henry Chibueze alias Vampire who escaped from police custody after unknown gunmen stormed the Owerri High Court in a commando style and rescued him and two others on January 27th.

Pep Guardiola says he feels pity for Iheanacho over the Nigerian's lack of games


Nigerian attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho has found playing time hard to come by with coach Pep Guardiola favoring to use Gabriel Jesus or Sergio Aguero as a lone forward. The coach says he admires Kelechi's qualities but prefers to play with a lone striker and Kelechi finds himself at the end of the pecking order.  He said:

Lawmakers in Zimbabwe suggest 8 children per family as they want to increase population and ignore birth control

With the country facing a huge setback to attract foreign investors because of its small population, Senators have now moved a motion urging Zimbabweans not to embrace birth control measures.
According to the Hansard, which provides a transcript of Zimbabwe's parliamentary debates, senators called for the Zimbabwe government to promote large families and get NGOs that have been pushing for birth control to instead 'promote family growth'.
The senators said it was worrying and suggested that people should have a minimum of eight children and be supported by Government to sustain their families.

Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique will step down at the end of the season, saying he needs to "rest". The 46-year-old, in his third season in charge of Barca, was speaking after their 6-1 win over Sporting Gijon.In his previous two seasons with the club, e won the Champions League as part of the treble in his first year and led them to a domestic double last season.

Fulani herdsmen allegedly kill 3 people in Rivers and Delta state


Three people have been killed following a clash between Fulani Herdsmen and Indigenes in Rivers state and Delta state. Two indigenes were reportedly murdered in Omumu community, Ika South Local Council of Delta State on Monday evening, while one person was killed in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni L.G.A, Rivers state following a clash between the Fulani cattle rearers and residents.
The herdsmen had cohabited peacefully with members of the community until recently when they began to engage in activities that angered the indigenes. The herdsmen, according to reports, have turned farmlands into grazing lands and destroyed goods worth so much money, causing the indigenes to confront the herdsmen, resulting in the clash which took lives.
