Court sends Kano musician to prison for releasing his new song without approval from the state censorship board
Kano based singer, Sadiq Zazzabi, has been remanded in prison on the orders of a court for releasing his new song without the approval of the state censorship board. Sadiq who is a strong supporter of the immediate past governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, released a new song recently. The state censorship board invited him over for questioning and filed a lawsuit against him before the censorship court in the state for releasing a song without their approval.
Dubai airport records 8m passengers in one month
Dubai International Airport, the world's busiest for international travel, has said passengers in January reached 8 million, rising 9.7 percent higher compared to the same period of 2016, the airport's operator said on Wednesday.
The number of flights at the airport increased 2.1 per cent to 36,592, while the average number of passengers per flight increased to 230 from 215 a year earlier.
Dubai airport handled 208,271 tonnes of cargo in January, an increase of 3.4 percent from a year earlier. According to the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, he said:
'It’s an auspicious start to what is sure to be another record-breaking year for DXB.'

LIB earlier reported on the massive 500 ton luggage that accompanied Saudi Arabia's king Salman on his visit to Indonesia,. The huge luggage includes two escalators and two limousines for the king's use. On arrival in Indonesia, one of the escalators was employed to help the 81yr old get off his gold coloured plane which has the word's 'God Bless You' written on it.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo Wednesday, received security briefing from all the service chiefs at the state House Abuja. Fielding questions from journalists after the meeting, Acting President Osinbajo said:
“As you know the Boko Haram as a military force has been degraded, they are not holding territory at the moment; our armed forces have been able to dislodge them from practically all territories they were holding in the past.
Former Permanent Secretary forfeits 47 cars to the Federal Govt
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today disclosed that a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power, Godknows Igali, has forfeited 47 SUV cars to Federal government. The antigraft agency made the disclosure in a a report it submitted to Senate Committee on Financial Crimes and Anti-corruption Wednesday.
According to EFCC, the cars were seized at the Utako, Abuja residence of the former Permanent Secretary who is currently being investigated for alleged corrupt practices while he was in office.
