What will your generation do for Nigeria? ex President Olusegun Obasanjo ask Nigerian youths


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday asked Nigerian youths what would their generation do to make Nigeria a better place. According to him, although his generation had failed Nigerians in some area, it cannot be denied that his generation brought about the Unity of the country. He said this when he spoke at the one day symposium organized by the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA).

On Monday night, Leicester city shocked the football world by beating Liverpool 3-1, and the performance was do dogged and reminiscent of last season's performances that led them to a historic premier league title win.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday commended Senator Rose Oko and other Senators that contributed to the debate on Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. 

The senate President said the incident is a sad and unfortunate

He said both countries have enjoyed great relationship over the years and called for an end to this xenophobic attacks.

Sogunle area of Lagos state, is trending on social media as ‘Jesus Christ’ look alike was spotted walking on the streets. 

According to VENO News, who posted the picture on their Facebook handle, the man disappeared when people came out to snap him.

“This man was trekking along the road at Sogunle area in Lagos state, Nigeria, this morning when people saw he look like Jesus Christ, they started bringing their phone and snapping suddenly they couldn’t find him again.”

Senate Makes 4 Resolutions On Xenophobic Attack On Nigerians

Nigerian Senate on Tuesday made four key resolutions on the xenophobic attacks on Nigeria in the Southern part of Africa.

The upper legislative chamber took the decision after‎ Rose Oko, a senator from Cross River north, moved a motion urging it to intervene in the resurgence of xenophobic attacks.

Nigeria's Economy in 2016 Shrank for the First time in 25 Years

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, on Tuesday said Nigeria's economy contracted 1.5 percent in 2016 due to lower oil revenues and a shortage of hard currency.

This will be the country's first annual contraction in the quarter of a century.

"This contraction reflects a difficult year for Nigeria, which included weaker inflation-induced consumption demand, an increase in pipeline vandalism, significantly reduced foreign reserves and a concomitantly weaker currency," NBS said in a report.
