Politics; If Mega Party Will Help Our Economy, I Don’t Have Problem With it - Saraki


President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, has declared that he is not against the emergence of the new mega party so long as it pushes Nigeria’s economy forward.




He made the declaration during an interview programme on Channels Television.

According to Saraki, “If the mega party will see us pushing Nigeria’s economy forward, I don’t have problem. Like I have said to many people, my focus now is on the economy.”


His remark is coming at a time when a new political party believed to be the mega party, Action Democratic Party, ADP, submitted requirements for registration to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday said they were pushing to extradite Nigerian lawmaker, Buruji Kashamu to the United States on drugs.


Buruji Kashamu has been wanted for years in connection with a heroin smuggling operation but maintains he is a victim of mistaken identity.

The senator, who represents Ogun state in the upper chamber of parliament, claims his dead brother whom he reportedly resembles ran the international drug ring in the 1990s.

The founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, Johnson Suleman, has been released and has left the office of the State Security Service, SSS, where he was questioned by officials of the service.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Premium Times, Mr. Suleman’s spokesperson, Phrank Shuaibu, confirmed his principal was released before 11 p.m. on Monday.

A statement issued by the Administrative Officer, Benjamin Achegbani, a Superintendent of Police, said Moshood took over from former Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Don Awunah, who has been posted to Akwa Ibom Command as Commissioner of Police.

An 18-month-old baby was left fighting for his life after a woman allegedly told her partner to shoot him in the head with an air gun "to shut him up".

The youngster was left with blood "gushing" from his head after being shot and kept passing in and out of consciousness, a court heard.
