Saheed Alabi pictured above, who is the son of a butcher and herb seller, has emerged the best graduating medical student of the Onabisi Onabanjo University , Ago-Iwoye in Ogun state. He had distinction in seven courses out of 10 in the school's College of Health Sciences.

The university will on the day of its convocation slated for January 31st, confer on him a special degree award.

Troops foil Boko Haram's attempt to capture military base in Yobe

Troops in Kamuya, Yobe state last night foiled an attempted by a large number of Boko Haram members to dislodge them and capture their military base. According to reports, the sect members who were over a hundred and armed with all manner of sophisticated weapons, stormed the military base at night. They engaged the Army in a fierce gun battle that lasted over an hour.

The troops killed many of the sect members while others fled the scene with gun shot injuries. Three soldiers were reportedly killed while some others are said to be missing. The Nigerian Army is yet to release a statement regarding this new attack.

Hollywood actress, Jenifer Lewis is suing a gym chain after one of their personal trainers, whom she had a personal relationship with, duped her out of $50,000. The actress claims the man turned out to be a con artist who had served time in jail. He apparently researched her on the internet before approaching her at a LA Fitness in West Los Angeles, and eventually talked her into a romantic relationship.
