See the state of the waterlogged pitch at AFCON game between Mali and Uganda


Mali and Uganda played out a 1-1 stalemate at the ongoing AFCON which saw both sides eliminated from the tournament. The playing surface made for a stop-start game as the waterlogged pitch meant the players couldn't go about their business hitch-free. More photos after the cut..

NLC Challenges Buhari: Address Nigerians If You Are Alive

The Nigeria Labour Congress has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to come out and address the nation so as to dispel rumour about his death. Since the President left the county for London, rumours have spread of the his ill-health and reported death. The presidency through his media aides debunked the reports confirming he is hale and hearty.

According to PUNCH, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, the General Secretary of NLC urged the president to put the rumour of his death to rest by addressing the country.

Unprecedented crowd greeted the city of Banjul on Thursday night as Gambian President Adama Barrow returned to govern the people of the small West African country after taking exile in Senegal over Yahya Jammeh's refusal to leave office.


President Barrow's plane landed at Banjul airport where jubilant crowds waited to welcome him. After landing, he tweeted: "I'm finally home #Gambia."

LAUTECH Students Resume, But Lecturers Are Absent


LAUTECH students resumed this morning just like they were ordered by the school authority that school resumes today, Jan. 27, 2017, but little or nothing will be done today as lecturers have refused to resume classes. The strike was called off when the school authorities called the students back, but it seems the lecturers aren’t ready.

Students were seen on campus this morning but lecturers are nowhere to be found which has made many of them hang around the school premises.

Recall the school was closed last June as lecturers went on strike to demand payment of their salaries.

Man Who Paid S3x Worker N500 Kills Her Because He Wasn’t Satisfied With Her Service


Commercial sex workers at De Love Hotel on Ilufumi Street in Ejigbo area of Lagos have fled, following the killing of their colleague by a customer, who accused her of not satisfying him for the N500 service he paid for. 

Vanguard gathered that a customer had singled out one of the commercial sex workers, Janet Etim, from her colleagues, Tuesday night. After agreeing on N500 fee for a short time fun. Late Etim, who hailed from Oron, Akwa Ibom State, led the customer to her apartment in the hotel.
