Photo: Ugandan nurse jailed for changing client's HIV positive result to negative


A Ugandan nurse who uttered false HIV results has been found guilty and sentenced to a 12-month jail term if she fails to pay a Shs2 million fine. Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court heard that on August 24, 2015, Ms Samali Mukooda, a nurse at JBK Medical Clinic in Kawuku, Wakiso District, carried out an HIV test on a one Don Byakatonda who tested positive for HIV.
However, Byakatonda, requested Mukooda to make for him a medical document showing that that he was HIV negative which he could present to his wife.

The Corruption Perceptions Index compiled by Transparency International shows something remarkable for Nigeria.
The index contains 176 countries in this order: the least corrupt country is at the top, and so as the table progresses downward, you see the more corrupt countries.
Nigeria is at Number 136, this means that it is not among the top 40 most corrupt countries in the world.

Saraki Denies Involvement In Alleged Plot To Remove Osinbajo

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has denied speculations that he contacted some Governors, to pressure acting President Yemi Osinbajo to resign.
The reports said Saraki was working to take over as President once Osinbajo resigns.
However, the Senate President in a statement released on Wednesday, said such reports were baseless, empty and unintelligent.
“My attention has been drawn to a speculation on some online media about supposed meeting of some Governors who held Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to ransom and sought for Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki to take over the Presidency,” he said.
