FIFA appoints Pinnick into Organising Committee for Competitions


World football –ruling body, FIFA, has named the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, into one of its most important committees – the Organising Committee for Competitions.

Hitherto, the world body had different committees for organization of its several competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup, FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, FIFA U17 World Cup, FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Pinnick was a member of the Organising Committee for the FIFA U20 World Cup.However, at its 66th Congress in Mexico City on 12th– 13th May 2016, and in accordance with the revised FIFA Statutes that came into force on 27th April 2016, the model of the standing committees was reviewed, cutting the number from 26 to 9.

A Director of Planning in one of the ministries in Borno State, whose name has not been revealed, has been arrested by the state Police for allegedly inserting electric heater into the anus of his 10-year old son for being gay. The director committed this inhumane act over allegations that his young had been engaging in homosexual activities with some politicians.

His 10 year old son, however claimed to have been raped at their 1000 Government Housing Estate residence, but his father didn't believe him. He reportedly chained the little boy before he carried out the barbaric act.

Special Assistant to the governor of Ekiti State on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has described the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as the headquarter of corruption in Nigeria, saying;
“If there is anyone that should be urgently prosecuted, it is Ibrahim Magu who was indicted by the DSS and still operating illegally as the EFCC Acting Chairman despite his rejection by the Senate.”

Ghanaian chief wears 400-year-old regalia to the funeral of Asantehemaa (Photo)

Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, the reigning Akwamuhene in Ghana was among other high chiefs that attended the funeral rites for the late Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa , the Asantehemaa and Queen mother of Asante Kingdom'. According to a report,  the regalia he wore to the funeral rite on Wednesday, January 19, 2017,  was 400 years old. Asantehemaa, the Queen mother of Asante Kingdom, who died on Monday, November 14, 2016, at the age of 111, was laid to rest at Manhyia.

Hillary was laughing at Donald Trump's inauguration alongside Michelle Obama when she noticed that her husband wasn’t watching what was happening on stage. She turned around and gave Clinton a long disapproving stare, he barely turned to acknowledge her and kept staring at whatever it was he was staring at. Malawian lady axed by ex-husband over a bag of flour


A 22-year-old woman from Ekesi Village in Malawi has been left with broken head after her ex-husband attacked her with an axe for refusing to let him sell a bag of maize flour. According to nyasatimes, the victim, Agness Faindani was attacked at about 4am on Thursday, January 19;  after she confronted her ex-husband who came to her house to get a bag of maize flour from her garden. Narrating the incident to Malawi News Agency (MANA) , the victim who is presently receiving treatment at the Mchinji district hospital, said:
