30 Feared Dead After Italian Spa Resort Was Buried Beneath Tonnes Of Snow After Earthquake


Up to 30 people are feared dead after an Italian hotel was covered by an avalanche following an earthquake.
The snowslide covered cars, farm animals and part of Hotel Rigopiano in Abruzzo, east of Rome, as it violently surged down a mountainside yesterday.
Dozens of guests were staying at the luxury spa hotel in the region of Pescara at the time. Local media are reporting that up to 30 people have been found dead in the hotel.

Governor of Pescara, Antonio Di Marco, said on Facebook: "Unfortunately, a terrible tragedy happened, it seems that there may be some fatalities, but this has yet to be confirmed."

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh is refusing to step down despite the threat of military intervention by neighbouring states.
Adama Barrow, who beat him in elections last month, is due to be inaugurated as the new president today, but Mr Jammeh has ignored the deadline.
West African military forces are ready to enforce a transfer of power., including Nigeria sending down soldiers. 

Senegalese troops remain stationed at the Gambian border, despite the deadline for Mr Jammeh to stand down passing at midnight.

Zimbabwe Pastor Who Says Mugabe Will Die In October Appears In Court


A Zimbabwean activist pastor appeared in court on Wednesday after police arrested him for predicting that President Robert Mugabe would die in October this year.

Patrick Mugadza, a preacher in the tourist resort town of Victoria Falls, told journalists last week that he had received a prophecy from God that Mugabe would die on Oct. 17.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt's biological mum is desperate to reunite with her daughter 12 years after Angelina Jolie adopted her.
The Hollywood actress adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in July 2005 when she was just six-months-old.
Her biological mother has now spoken out, saying she hopes to reconnect with the 12-year-old.
Mentewab went on to say that she thinks about her daughter every day and would like to celebrate future birthdays with her.

"Angelina has been more of a mother to her than I have ever been," she continued. "She has been with her since she was a baby, but that does not mean I do not miss her. I miss her all the time. I think about her every day and long to hear her voice or see her face. "

Nigerians Do Not Need Counselling To Reject APC In 2019- Fayose


The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said Nigerians does not need counselling to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress during the 2019 general elections.
According to him, the abysmal performance of the party has already made the people grow weary of the party.

This is just as the governor noted that there was a wide difference in the tolerance levels of former President Goodluck Jonathan and the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari. Fayose stated this in Ado Ekiti during an interactive session with some journalists.

Two suspected masterminds of the kidnapping of pupils and staff members of the Nigerian Turkish International Colleges have been arrested by the police.

Apart from the ringleaders, Philip Kakadu, aka General Kakadu, and Romeo Council, aka Raw, other suspects were also said to be undergoing screening in connection with the abduction.

Punch Metro gathered that 29-year-old Kakadu and Council, 40, were apprehended in Warri, Delta State, by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, led by ACP Abba Kyari.
