Photos: Travelers stranded as aggrieved Delta women barricade East-West Road over rape and killing by Fulani herdsmen

Thousands of travelers were stranded on Wednesday, after aggrieved women, numbering over 100 barricaded the East-West Road, over what they termed the incessant killing, raping of indigenes by armed Fulani herdsmen.
The protesting women from Ohorhor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State besieged and barricaded the busy road with planks of wood, leaves, tires and chairs.

Ahead of the presidential inauguration in Gambia today, the Nigerian Air Force Wednesday, airlifted troops to the country as part of efforts by ECOWAS to ensure that the incumbent President, Yahya Jammeh,  hands over power to the president-elect and winner of the December 1st Presidential election, Adama Barrow. The Nigerian troops will join their counterparts from Ghana and Senegal to apply force to remove Jammeh from office should he refuse to hand over.

Catholic and Catholism has its root in yoruba deity, Osoosi- Ooni of Ife says

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has said that Catholics and Catholicism has its source from the Yoruba deity, Osoosi. Ooni said this at the celebration of the Osoosi deity believed to be the father of philanthropy and religious congregation for purity and sanity, in Ile Ife Osun state Tuesday January 17th. He said:
"This is a landmark festival for us. Mankind started from the tropical Africa and it is the most populous. This is one of the historical landmarks to prove that everything started from the continent of Africa and Nigeria which is the most populous nation that belongs to the black race. We are here at the Osoosi and Obatala temples to celebrate. Osoosi's temple is where the gathering (religious) started from. Religion should be used to preach peace and unity.

George Clooney's wife Amal Clooney is reportedly pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl.  The 38-year-old human rights lawyer and her 55-year-old Oscar-winning husband got married in 2014 are reportedly over-the-moon with the news.
A source told InTouch Weekly:

'Amal is pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl'. 'When Amal and George found out it was twins, they were surprised, but also a little scared because they both had said that one was enough'. 'But the news that it was both a girl and a boy made them really happy. They feel like they've hit the family jackpot.'

President Buhari sends delegates to visit victims of Rann accidental bomb discharge incident


President Buhari Wednesday sent a delegate led by his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, to Rann, Borno state to visit the victims of the accidental Bomb discharge at an IDP camp in the state Tuesday.
