US ambassador to the UN blasts Russia as 'major threat facing the U.S' and rejects Trump's attack on intel agencies


The United States ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, has blasted Russia, saying the country is a major threat to the U.S and that incoming U.S President Donald Trump's attacks on the Intel agencies is uncalled for, as the agencies work for the good of America and not the Democratic or Republican party. 

According to her, Trump shouldn't have denigrated U.S Intel Agencies after they concluded that Russia worked to favor Trump in the November Presidential elections. 

Gambia's parliament extends soon to be ex-President, Yahya Jammeh's term by 90 days


Gambia's parliament has extended President Yahya Jammeh's term, which is due to end on Thursday, by an extra 3 months (90 days). This follows Jammeh's sudden and stubborn decision to accept his opponent, President-elect Adama Barrow's victory in the Presidential elections held in December.
The Parliament approved Jammeh's decision to declare a 90-day state of emergency  even though other regional leaders threatened to use military force to oust him if he refuses to hand over power on Thursday. Source: BBC Africa

Staff of Total Nigeria accused of abusing his wife of 10 years (photo)

According to Facebook user, Beks Asu who shared the photos, a staff of Total Plc, Port Harcourt, who has been married to his wife, Preye for 10 years and have 3 children inflicted the wounds above on her. He revealed that, the woman has been a victim of domestic violence more than a dozen times. He wrote;

President Buhari regrets accidental bombing, condoles with families of the dead


President Buhari has received with deep sadness and regret, the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State, by the Nigerian Air Force, engaged in the final phase of mopping up insurgents in the North-east.
At least 120 people were wounded and 52 killed in the aerial bombing including ten humanitarian Aid workers with Red Cross and MSF International.
President Buhari condoles with families of the dead, wishes the wounded divine succour, leading to full recovery, and sympathizes with the Borno State government.
The President pledges federal help for the state government in attending to "this regrettable operational mistake," and pleads for calm, even as he prays God to grant repose to the souls of the dead.

Nigerian military jet accidentally kills over 50 civilians & humanitarian aid workers in Borno settlement


The Nigerian military on Tuesday said a fighter jet accidentally shot some civilians and humanitarian aid workers during an operation in Kala Balge, Borno State.

The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor, who disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday in Maiduguri, said soldiers got information of movement of Boko Haram members and deployed ground troops and air cover to tackle the terrorists.

Two Thieves (pictured) were caught stealing undergound cable in Area 8, Garki, Abuja this morning. They were tied to the ground before they were taken away by the police.

"I did not kill my husband" Wife of Chuks Okebata shares her side of the story


Ever since a video emerged on Facebook showing late Chuks Okebata and his wife engaged in a war of words after which she called the cops on him, people have been accusing Chuks' wife of having a hand in his death.

Chuks' wife has reacted to the damaging videos making the rounds by telling her side of the story. According to her, she called the cops on her husband for her own safety because Chuks constantly subjected her to physical abuse.
