Lagos Welder Kills Friend Over N500 Dog Meat


The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old welder, Sunday Hycenth, for allegedly killing his friend, Onwe Ozoemelem, in the FESTAC Town area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Hycenth and 26-year-old Ozoemelem had engaged in fisticuffs over a N500 dog meat bought by a resident.

The suspect was alleged to have hit the victim with fist blows on the chest, after which he slumped and was rushed to a hospital, where he died.

Hycenth was subsequently arrested by policemen from the FESTAC division before the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

Gang Slayings At Two Brazilian Prisons Leaves 27 Inmates Beheaded And Dismembered In Latest Brutal Bloodbath


According to officials, 27 inmates have died in two northern Brazilian prisons.

State security officials said fighting between rival gangs broke out on Saturday at the adjacent Alcacuz and Rogerio Coutinho lock-ups near the city of Natal in the Rio Grande do Norte state.

Officials waited until dawn on Sunday before entering to try to re-impose control, said state security chief Caio Cesar Bezerra.

President Michel Temer expressed concern over the rebellion through his official Twitter page, saying he had been following the situation closely.

Kidnapper Killed In Failed Abduction Of Ondo Monarch’s Wife


A member of a kidnap gang was shot dead by police detectives in Ondo State after Grace Faduyile, wife of the traditional ruler of Ikoya in Okitipupa area of the state, was abducted yesterday afternoon.

 The state Police Command spokesman, Femi Joseph, told newsmen: “Immediately the command received the information about the monarch’s wife’s abduction, a team of policemen went after the kidnappers in conjunction with the local hunters.

“The hoodlums later abandoned the victims and ran into the bush.

Mother-Of-Eight Complains She Can't Land Her Dream Job As A Mechanic Because She's So BEAUTFUL


A mother-of-eight has said she is unable to get her dream job as mechanic because men keep trying it on with her.

Marie Buchan, of Selly Oak in Birmingham, said when she is approached by garages to conduct work experience they are often 'looking for something more' and 'not really after [her] working there'.

The 37-year-old, who previously complained about cuts to her £31,000 benefits, said some men in garages are 'dirty big perverts'.

Mum Left With Brain Damage After Doctors Missed Tumour For 17 Years


A woman has been left with brain damage after she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour - 17 years after symptoms first appeared.

Emma Seasman, 38, first started showing symptoms of the illness when she was in her teens, but the cause of her problems was put down variously to PMT, depression and bipolar disorder.

As Emma’s symptoms got worse, she visited one GP who realised things weren’t right and further tests revealed the mum-of-two had a brain tumour .

Bishop Eddie Long is Dead

Bishop Eddie Long, senior pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, died Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 63.
The death was announced by the church.
“I am confident through my belief in God that my husband is now resting in a better place. Although, his transition leaves a void for those of us who loved him dearly, we can celebrate and be happy for him, knowing he’s at peace," said Vanessa Long, the minister’s wife.
The church said Long suffered from a particularly aggressive form of cancer. Members of the congregation wailed and shrieked at the official announcement.
